What is Third Song In?
Third Song In is a weekly podcast hosted by Tom Polacek and Chris Derickson, two long-time college friends and roommates. On each episode, Tom and Chris tell stories and talk about pop culture (movies, books, and music), making recommendations and creating season-long playlists, available on various streaming services.
Tom Polacek
Tom is our resident Springsteen fan and a minor-league cinephile. He outlines the episodes and edits the podcast, as he holds down the fort in the suburbs just outside Chicago, Illinois. Tom watches a lot of movies and still reads real books, which helps him give a broad range of pop culture recommendations for each episode of the podcast.
Chris Derickson
Chris definitely leans much more toward the Seger side of things. When it comes to the podcast, he's much more of a thinker than a planner. It's that complementary skill set that makes the podcast -- and their friendship -- work so well. Chris will bring a book or movie to the mix every once in a while, but it's recommending the little-known song or artist that drives him.
